* 89% Buddhist
* 40% illiteracy rate
* 50% unemployment
* $240 per capita income
* 40% of children are malnourished

Crestview Baptist Church has sent a team to Myanmar for the past two years where they:
* Carried in with them in excess of 500 lbs. of donated items ranging from vitamins and anti-fungal creams to children’s clothing
* Visited 8 Christian orphanages and conducted some badly needed health exams for the children and staff and at the same time, taught ESL and Bible stories
* Purchased and distributed to the orphanages over 2,100 lbs. of rice, beans, potatoes, pineapples and fresh chickens
* Visited a neighborhood Bible school
* Met with a Mon state pastor on how best to spread Christianity in his area

Crestview will continue to send teams into Myanmar in the years to come, ministering to orphanages, growing neighborhood Bible schools and providing discipleship training for pastors in the Mon state (the people of the Mon state are considered an unreached people group).
